Vehicle production in Poland slowed in March in anticipation of weaker demand from euro zone markets.

Industry monitor Samar said that the number of passenger cars and trucks produced during the month fell 26% in annual terms and down 7% from the previous month.

Auto production accounts for around 7% of Polish industry output and the number of cars and trucks produced in the first quarter fell 17.5% after a 7% decline last year to around 825,000. Poland exports more than 90% of the cars it produces.

The largest producer is Fiat Auto Poland with a market share of 57% followed by Volkswagen and Opel.
