Jaguar Land Rover is remaining tight-lipped concerning speculation it could tie up with Great Wall Motor Co.
Chinese media reports cite Great Wall as noting JLR had visited the country earlier this month.
However, despite the reports, JLR continues to keep its cards close to its chest, although it has acknowledged it had expressed an interest in producing cars in China.
“JLR acknowledged last year we were interested in manufacturing
vehicles in China and that we would be opening discussions with the
relevant parties to progress this plan,” a statement emailed to just-auto noted.
“This process is ongoing and we have nothing to confirm or add at this
time. When we have something to communicate we will do so – we don’t
comment on speculation.”
