Mazda’s UK sales company says that it is targeting higher fleet (company) sales as it benefits from new models that are appealing to the sector.
In the 12 months to 31 March 2015, Mazda says its fleet sales totalled 11,876, up 43% on the prior year’s 8,319 units with the brand boosted in the sector by the arrival of the CX-5 and Mazda3.
Mazda UK says that fleet sales as a share of April to March financial year total new car volumes have risen from 16% in 2012/13 to 23% in 2013/14 and 30% in 2014/15.
The company also said that its breakthrough in fleet sales has been helped by the introduction of emission-cutting, fuel-saving SKYACTIV technology, which will feature in all models following the arrival of the all-new MX-5 this summer.
Mazda Head of Fleet Steve Tomlinson is forecasting that fleet sales will top 15,000 units in 2015/16.
