Stellantis chief executive Antonio Filosa has dismissed the prospect of separating the automaker’s European and US brands.

Speaking to Bloomberg Television at the Paris Motor Show, Filosa said such a move is “not plausible at all”.

He said the group depends on global technology shared across its 14 vehicle marques, including powertrains and software architecture.

Filosa added Stellantis develops technology for its global vehicle range, including powertrains and computing architecture.

The marques then use these systems as their technological foundation.

Filosa is reviewing the company’s strategy, including the allocation of investment between its marques. Several brands compete for the same mass-market customers.

Stellantis is displaying more than 60 vehicles from eight brands at the Paris Motor Show, including nine concept cars. The event runs from 12 October to 18 October 2026.

The vehicles on display include the all-electric Citroën 2CV, which uses technology developed by Chinese partner Leapmotor.

The company has also set out plans to deepen its relationship with Dongfeng Motor.

Filosa has previously said that cooperation with Chinese companies could help Europe address surplus manufacturing capacity without plant closures.

He also rejected the possibility of selling Maserati, saying Stellantis was “not at all” considering the disposal of the sports car brand.

The automaker recorded another loss last year. Filosa said the group had “already crossed the point to be profitable again”.

Created in 2021 through the merger of Fiat Chrysler and France’s PSA Group, Stellantis unveiled its FaSTLAne 2030 strategic plan in May this year.

The €60bn, five-year plan is intended to accelerate growth and profit as the company seeks to turnaround.

Last month, Stellantis acquired CK Birla Group’s remaining interest in their Indian joint venture.

The transaction provided Stellantis with full ownership of the manufacturing operations at Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu.
