China’s Chery – the eponymous brand from the Chery Group – has stressed its European credentials and presence at the Paris Motor Show.
The brand formally unveiled “For EU. For Family”, the European expression of its global “For Family” proposition, alongside its strategic roadmap for the EU market.
Chery now has a presence in 18 European countries with cumulative sales of more than 160,000 vehicles, and says it is targeting 20 EU markets, 687 sales and service outlets and around 100,000 EU families during 2026.
At the Paris Motor Show, the Chery stand will welcome visitors from across Europe with an ‘immersive family-mobility experience area, allowing them to explore the value offered by a broad range of models first-hand’.
Chery Q, the brand's first all-electric model, made its European public debut in France. The model joined a raft of Chery products on the Paris stand - the Tiggo 4 1.5T, Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8 and Tiggo CSH.
The Tiggo 4 1.5T, an important volume model for France, also appeared at the show, with France becoming the first EU market to introduce it. Chery said the model further strengthens Chery's offering in the French and wider EU family SUV market, bringing ‘power and space suited to daily family use across commuting, shopping, school runs and weekend travel’.
Chery stresses long-term EU plans
As its product portfolio expands and customer recognition continues to grow, Chery maintains it is steadily advancing its long-term plans for the EU market and accelerating the development of a more localised industrial ecosystem.
The company claims it has set out a clear roadmap: strengthen local research and development, production and service networks; continue to evolve its product range; and offer plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options.
It says the diversified powertrain strategy is intended to support both short urban journeys in electric mode and longer family trips with hybrid power, while responding more precisely to different markets and customer groups.

UK market expansion, too
Chery is also planning further expansion in the UK.
The brand is preparing to launch four new and updated models in the UK over the next year.
Electrification is at the heart of this strategy which will see Chery launch its first EV in the UK – the Chery Q. Alongside this milestone launch will be enhancements to the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system currently offered, which will include larger battery packs offering more electric-range and reduced fuel consumption and emissions.
Models equipped with the CSH system account for 75% of Chery UK’s registrations, demonstrating strong demand for electrified powertrains.
Farrell Hsu, Managing Director at Chery UK, said: “The performance of the Chery brand in the UK in its first year has exceeded our expectations, and the whole team is extremely proud of what’s been achieved in such a short time.
“We also know how competitive the UK market is, and that’s why we’ll be launching four new and enhanced models over the next 12 months – including our first EV and upgraded Chery Super Hybrid vehicles. The investments we’re making in electrification will ensure that we continue to build our brand, appeal to even more customers than before, and ensure our long-term strategic growth.”
Chery’s new UK R&D Centre of Excellence at the UTAC Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire will also play a pivotal role through customer-focused product development, Chery says.
