ZF TRW has established a new headquarters for its Global Electronics business in the Arboretum Office Park, Farmington Hills, Michigan.

The new headquarters feature 171,000 square feet of office and laboratory space and ZF TRW is expected to complete occupancy of the new building in the first half of 2016.

“The growth of our electronics product portfolio, and in particular our driver assist systems such as the automotive cameras that are designed and developed at the current Farmington Hills locations, have brought about this opportunity,” said ZF TRW EVP, operations and COO, Mark Stewart.

“We look forward to continuing our journey in this community as we develop the next generation of electronics products for the global auto industry.”

Those products include ZF TRW’s S-Cam family of automotive cameras offering both a single lens version and Tri-cam three lens version that support the more stringent advanced safety test protocols and semi to fully automated driving functions.

ZF TRW functions supported by its camera and radar technologies include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, emergency steering assist, and collision mitigation systems among others.

“We are pleased to embark upon our next phase of expansion and opportunity for this business,” said ZF TRW VP Global Electronics Engineering and site lead executive for the new HQ, Ken Kaiser.

“Our engineers and technicians will have even greater opportunities as we develop products in our new lab and vehicle test facilities.

“We will also continue to look for new talent as growth continues and the new headquarters will give us greater capacity to do so. “

The HQ will house more than 600 electronics experts with full component and vehicle testing capability across the driver assist, occupant safety and Radio Frequency electronics product lines.
