According to the Serbia and Montenegro News Digest, Serbian carmaker Zastava (formerly the maker of Yugo brand cars), reported a ten-year high monthly sales of over 1,240 vehicles in the local market in September.

The report says that the recovery to Zastava sales is due to the implementation of a government support programme, targeted advertising and favourable sales conditions offered to local buyers.

The report adds that companies were attracted by interest-free finance over a six-month period, with a four-month grace period. There is also an extended guarantee on Zastava vehicles.
