GM Uzbekistan, a joint venture between General Motors and Uzbek automaker Uzavtoprom, has spent US$124.5m to produce the GM-Daewoo designed Chevrolet Spark model line, Uzavtoprom’s press office said on Thursday.

The Spark model will be the seventh car model to be produced by GM Uzbekistan. The company plans to assemble 50,000 a year, exporting 20,000.

GM holds 25% plus one share in the joint venture, while Uzavtoprom holds the remaining 75%.
