Carabunga.com, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Newgen Results Corporation (Nasdaq:NWGN), today announced it has teamed with Volkswagen to launch a unique Web-based e-Coupon site, Dealer First(TM) (www.dealerfirst.com)

Expected to be available this quarter, Dealer First will allow Volkswagen dealers to use an Internet browser to quickly create targeted, highly customized direct mailings of service coupons to both existing and prospective customers. Using the new Web site, dealers will be able to choose either a featured promotion, or to craft their own coupon mailer from several refined examples available to member dealers as point-and-click dynamic HTML files.

Dealer First will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to allow busy dealers to manage their time to suit their own schedules. Customized “e-Coupons” will enable dealers to deploy a Volkswagen developed format that is automatically populated with dealer-set prices, payment methods, terms and messages.

Dealer First not only offers click-and-create efficiency, but will also update dealers on co-op eligibility for their coupons. In addition, dealers will be able to access real-time job reports using the Web site that tells them when their job was ordered, the count approval date and total pieces, and mail drop date.

Dealer First will be available to Canadian Volkswagen dealers later this year.

“For dealers, the ability to go to a ‘one-stop shop’ to create a powerful coupon promotion is just a dream,” said Mike Dooley, Service Director at Suburban Volkswagen in Troy, Michigan. “It helps me coordinate co-op funding, printing and mailing easily and whenever I choose to get a timely and accurate promotion underway. This Internet application means my service pricing will be current at the time my coupons reach customers.”

“The e-Coupons developed using Dealer First will also seamlessly tie dealers to Volkswagen’s professional marketing image, and uphold the corporate brand image,” said Iltyd Geare, Team Leader Service & Parts Marketing for Volkswagen of America.

“The Volkswagen brand is respected globally, and it is important for our dealers both to benefit from brand image and to represent the brand correctly. Dealer First allows them to do this by giving them Volkswagen approved graphics and tools,” continued Geare.

“Dealer First is an e-Coupon portal that exemplifies the power of the Internet and how it can bring customers, business and increased revenue back to dealers,” said Jim Roche, Carabunga.com president. “Both Volkswagen and more than 600 U.S. dealers are winners because the e-Coupon portal allows them to present a professional image while delighting vehicle owners.

Carabunga.com is a subsidiary of Newgen Results Corporation, a leading provider of Customer Relationship Management (CRM & e-CRM) technology for the service sector of the U.S. retail automotive industry. Roche was formerly senior vice president, e-Services, for Newgen.

The Power of Online Promotions

An R.L. Polk study of new car buyers in 1999 indicated that purchase decisions are often positively influenced by promotion-driven contact involving their previous vehicles. Some 81 percent of new car buyers said they were influenced by coupons for discounted service; more than 70 percent of new car buyers said they were influenced by maintenance reminders, personalized letters from the manufacturer and owner magazines.

The Internet helps improve consistency of these efforts, and can reduce expenses when compared to non-Internet approaches.
