Unique Racing Experience Available on www.gm.com/lemans

Quokka Sports, Inc. (Nasdaq: QKKA), a leading provider of sports entertainment for the digital world(TM), today announced it is working with General Motors, (NYSE: GM) to deliver live coverage of Le Mans 2000 at www.gm.com/lemans. The day-long Le Mans is one of the biggest motor races in the world, and Quokka Sports’ work with GM creates an online experience centered on the race that immerses virtual visitors into the “GM Experience” and gives them an intimate connection with the GM brands. Quokka Sports, which has pioneered new techniques to deliver immersive sporting experiences to online viewers, has worked with GM on past “brand immersion” projects, as well as with other companies, including Compaq, Computer Associates and Intel.

Live racing coverage of Le Mans will begin on June 17, 2000 on www.gm.com/lemans, providing viewers with 24 hours race of updates, stories and information. Racing enthusiasts can even watch the race during the eight hours of darkness at night through night vision technology featured on the site. Viewers can also “virtually climb” into GM racecars, like the Cadillac LMP and the Corvette C5-R and experience the circuit via on-board video and telemetry. In addition, visitors can immerse themselves in the history of Le Mans, and follow the progression of cars, circuits and teams throughout the years. Today fans can access www.gm.com/lemans to find driver and team profiles, audio interviews with the drivers and photo galleries of the race circuit, cars and teams.

“We are thrilled to be able to work with GM and the fans of Le Mans 2000,” said Alan Ramadan, CEO and founder of Quokka Sports. “We have extensive experience in providing Internet coverage of motor sports, with www.cart.com and www.motograndprix.com, and this work we are doing with GM exemplifies the range of sponsorship opportunities that Quokka Sports can provide to its partners.”

“LeMans is one of the world’s premiere motor sports events, and we wanted to make sure that we delivered the most cutting-edge coverage of the race,” said Mark Hogan, president of e-GM, GM’s e-business division. “We are happy to be providing a truly immersive experience to fans of Le Mans worldwide.”
