Winbond Electronics has introduceda new electronics product – the TrustME W77T Secure Flash family – aimed at enhancing security in the automotive sector.

The product is designed to meet the standards of software-defined vehicles and E/E systems, offering strong protection for connected and autonomous vehicles.

The W77T, operating at a 200MHz double transfer rate on the industry-standard Octal/xSPI interface, boasts a read bandwidth of up to 400MB/s.

This performance is particularly suitable for automotive system-on-chip designs that necessitate rapid boot times and high processing capabilities, the company said.

Offered in densities ranging from 64Mb to 1Gb, the W77T is available in various packages, including TFBGA, SOIC, and WSON.

It features extended Replay Protected Monotonic Counters and other advanced capabilities such as JEDEC SPI CRC and ECC, manufactured in a security-certified facility.

The TrustME Secure Flash family includes security features such as Post-Quantum Cryptography and firmware resiliency, in compliance with NIST 800-193.

The W77T also meets Common Criteria, ISO21434, FIPS 140-3 certification, and ISO26262 Functional Safety requirements.

Backward compatible with W25Q NOR Flash and W77Q Secure Flash, the W77T offers features for automotive security, including code and data protection, authentication, and secure software updates.

Winbond said that 256Mb, 512Mb, and 1Gb samples are currently available, with 64Mb and 128Mb to follow shortly.
