Visteon Corporation today announced that Visteon’s Ford Microelectronics, Inc. (FMI) design team will join Intel Corporation’s Wireless Computing and Communications Group (WCCG). In addition to hiring the design team, Intel has purchased certain assets associated with the development of FMI’s integrated circuit units. FMI, formed in 1982, designs and develops integrated circuits for automotive applications and has more than 50 designs in high-volume production.

“We are pleased that this talented design team has joined Intel, where it will play a key role in developing our advanced cellular products,” said Ron Smith, Intel vice president and general manager of WCCG.
