Caterpillar Logistics, a unit of heavy equipment maker Caterpillar Inc., will provide aftermarket logistics services to General Motors Corp.’s Cadillac Europe division, according to the Associated Press.

AP said the company will supply core logistics support for inventory management, warehousing and transport administration, while also providing a multi-lingual customer service team and web-based customer order processing. The agreement will be implemented in the third quarter of 2004 with operations based in a facility in Puurs, Belgium.

“We are relying on Cat Logistics bringing together its warehouse management, materials planning expertise and systems into a fully integrated logistics solution which processes our orders efficiently and accurately, and improves our off-the-shelf fill rates,” said Wim Harmsen, vice president of Cadillac Europe, told the Associated Press.
