Cars can be lighter, tougher and roomier by using a breakthrough technology to be presented to an international gathering of automotive industry experts next week in California. The experts will hear how Reflexive Materials Technology(TM) (RMT(TM)) can help to improve fuel efficiency, and enhance safety and comfort. In addition, because RMT is truly a breakthrough technology that can be used on a wide range of materials, products, and structures, it can be used to make bridges stronger and roads more durable. The presentation will also detail how RMT will benefit other industries including, aerospace, electronics, and construction.

Charles R. Owens, the inventor of RMT and the Chairman of UniStates Technology Corporation, will speak on the many uses of RMT in a presentation entitled, “Reflexive Materials Technology: Stronger, Lighter, Thinner, Cheaper Materials by Design.” This presentation will take place at the 45th International SAMPE Symposium and Exhibition in Long Beach on Thursday, May 25. Owens will discuss techniques for enhancing the performance of structural materials using RMT distributed porosity(TM) to produce lightweight materials, products, and structures of uniform quality and performance. Testing and computer modeling indicate that RMT can make products up to twice as strong and half as heavy.

Owens will also detail the startup of an RMT Production Center by UniStates in conjunction with the Tufts University College of Engineering. The facility is dedicated to the joint development of RMT products with both industry and government.

Dr. Charalabos C. Doumanidis, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Tufts, designed the RMT production facilities. Dr. Doumanidis is taking a yearlong sabbatical to install the facilities, which he will continue to manage. Professor Doumanidis holds his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Hugh A. Bruck, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, will collaborate with Dr. Doumanidis. Professor Bruck holds his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology.

A complete description of the RMT Production Center, a copy of Owens’ presentation, and a full explanation of RMT inner space technology(TM) in layman’s language are on the UniStates Website at unistates.com. UniStates is a private company with offices in Virginia and Massachusetts.

UniStates Technology Corporation is a 13 year-old materials design firm with the exclusive right to commercialize Reflexive Materials Technology (RMT).
