Audi of America’s sales sizzled in June with total of 6,901 units for the month, another double-digit increase of 20.2 percent over June 1999 when sales were 5,742. June represents the sixth consecutive month in 2000 where the company posted year-over-year sales gains. Audi year-to-date sales increased 42.9 percent to 40,372 versus 28,252 vehicles sold during the first half of last year.

The TT posted major sales gains for the month, reporting sales of 1,272 up 82.5 percent over June 1999.

Continued growth was seen from the A6 range with 2,625 sales, another double-digit increase of 38.1 percent over the same month last year. The Audi A4 continued its strong sales with 2,846 for the month, about even with last year results of 2898 units.

Audi’s all-aluminum flagship A8 reported total sales of 158. In June, the new A8L continued to account for more than 50 percent of all A8 sales.
