Bloomberg reports that Visteon is considering restructuring itself into two separate companies, one specialised on electronics-based products and the other on climate controls.
The report cited anonymous sources ‘familiar with the matter’ and said that Visteon is yet to hire advisers to help with a possible split. The discussions of such a strategy appear to be at a very early stage.
The Bloomberg report said that Visteon’s board of directors has concluded that the two major areas of the companies’ activities have little product overlap and add little value as part of the same company.
The company has already embarked on considerable restructuring and divestments of business units.
