No General Motors suppliers have yet asked for up-front payment and GM would suffer if suppliers did so, the automaker’s purchasing chief said.

Global purchasing manager Bo Andersson told Reuters: “If [European suppliers] would ask us for cash in advance, it would be a disaster.”
“So far we’ve had good support from (our) supplier base,” he said at a management conference here.
