Changan Automobile plans to shift its UK operations to Birmingham Business Park in Solihull. The decision forms part of the company’s expansion plans.

Changan has leased 24,000sq ft of space in three Parkside offices at the business park. The UK head office of the company’s R&D and powertrain divisions will be located at the site.

By October, around 110 people will be moved from Warwickshire and Nottingham Science Park to the site, Birmingham Post reported.

Changan UK general manager Xiaoyu Zhang said, “Our new site at Birmingham Business Park in the UK will become a world-class powertrain research centre. This new location will strengthen our commitment to the UK market by promoting the growth and sustainability of Changan UK, developing links with local universities and creating new jobs for the region.”
