Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) on Friday marked cumulative production of 5m vehicles at Toyota Motor Thailand (TMT) with a ceremony at TMT’s Ban Pho plant.

TMC established TMT in 1962 as its second overseas production site, following Brazil. It began assembly of the Tiara sedan and Stout truck at the Samrong plant in 1964.

Also due to mark a 5m unit production milestone this month is Siam Toyota Manufacturing, TMC’s engine-production subsidiary here, formed in 1987.
