Thailand’s Mazda distributor has hiked its target for 2011 after strong sales in the first eight months.

Mazda Sales (Thailand) now wants to sell 42,000 units, up from 38,500 targeted previously and 20% year on year, after January-August volume reached 27,863.

Managing Director Choichi Yuki said in a statement cited by Dow Jones: “In the last four months of this year, Mazda is preparing a large number of marketing activities and promotions, along with introduction of new and special edition for passenger car and pickup truck models, as well as sales campaigns. We will concentrate on activities that directly reach the customer groups in order to achieve our 42,000-unit sales target.”
