Ford Europe has announced new parking and personal radio apps for its Sync with AppLink system at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Parkopedia will enable drivers to search 15m parking spaces across Europe and Aupeo to voice control their favourite music from more than 200 ‘curated’ European radio stations.
Last year Ford of Britain added the free UK app Radioplayer, which extends to BBC stations, commercial radio and a selection of community and student stations.
“Customers want to integrate their personalised digital lives into their daily drive to ensure they are as connected and streamlined on the move as they are the rest of the day,” said the automaker’s Paul Mascarenas. “These new AppLink partnerships significantly extend the growing range of smartphone apps drivers will be able to access by voice.”
Parkopedia and Aupeo join the growing number of service providers that have confirmed they are enabling apps to work with voice controllled Sync and AppLink in Europe. The automaker has previously announced apps from ADAC; Audioteka; Cityseeker and Eventseeker by Wcities; Glympse; Hotels.com; Kaliki; Spotify and TomTom.
Parkopedia enables parking searches by closest location; cheapest location; and availability; from a constantly updated database that covers 3,000 towns and cities in 20 countries across Europe.
