South Korean car-maker Daewoo resumed production at its main plant after a
three-week stoppage, say Asian news sources (4/12/00).

Quoting a company spokesman, the ‘Dawn’ publication reports that nearly 12,000
cars would be produced at the Pupyong plant – in the port city of Inchon – which
was the site of the standstill which began on November 9.

Refusal by suppliers to deliver without advance payment was cited as the reason
behind the halt in production, says the article.
