The global economic uncertainty has caused a rise in the number of registered vehicles in South Korea manufactured more than 15 years ago.


According to the Korea Herald, citing the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association, the number of automobiles over 15 years old increased by 150,000 units last year to about 475,000. In 2007 the total was about 325,000.


Vehicles produced more than 15 years ago now represent 3.8% of the total registered, up from 2.7% recorded in 2007.
