Russia’s Zavolzhsky Engine Plant (ZMZ), located in the Nizhny Novgorod Region and controlled by Severstal-Auto, has concluded an agreement with automaker GM-Avtovaz to supply it annually with up to 30,000 component parts for the export version of the Chevrolet Niva, ZMZ said in a press release cited by Prime-Tass on Tuesday.


Under the agreement, which lasts till 2011, ZMZ is to supply seven component parts of the transfer gearbox as well as the clutch casing, which will be ready for GM-Avtovaz to fit into the cars, ZMZ’s technical director Pyotr Golubev said in the press release.


ZMZ has invested 155 million rubles buying the equipment to produce auto component parts for GM-Avtovaz, according to the press release.
