Renault has announced that it will suspend production for two weeks in December at its Moscow-based Avtoframos plant.
The company has made the mover due to lower demand in Russia.
Production will cease between December 12 and December 31 at the Moscow plant, which produces the hugely successful Logan.
Taking into account Russia’s New Year’s public holidays from Jan.1 to Jan. 10, the line, which produces around 330 cars per day, will be idle for almost a month.
Foreign carmakers have enjoyed spectacular growth in Russia over the past eighteen months, but that trend was abruptly ended when the financial crisis hit and credit availability dried up in October.
