The GM-AvtoVAZ joint venture, which produces the Chevrolet Niva SUV at Togliatti in Russia, resumed operations today on its main production line after summer vacations which started on 13 July, Prime-Tass reported.

In the January-June period, GM-AvtoVAZ produced 10,399 cars, down 65% year on year. Sales fell 64% to 10,734 cars.
