Novecon reports that Rusavtogaz, a sales enterprise of the Nizhni Novgorod GAZ auto plant, and the Moscow INTURREIS company, which owns several taxi stations, have signed an agreement on the supply of up to 3,000 Volga GAZ-3110 cars as part of the Russian Taxi programme in 2003.

The GAZ-3110 is priced at under $5,500. Overall, Moscow needs about 14,000 taxis. Eventually, Rusavtogaz plans to supply GAZ-3110 cars with a body extended by 40 centimetres to Moscow. This will make it possible to increase the car’s passenger seats from four to six. The report says that this version of the Volga will be unveiled in Nizhni Novgorod in July 2002.
