Despite a serious ongoing economic recession, Ford plans to launch six new models in Russia in 2015, CEO Mark Fields has said, according to reports.

“Between end-2014 and end-2015 we will bring six new models to market. There are no bad times for me to introduce a great new model, even if the economic conditions are difficult,” he was quoted saying in WirtschaftsWoche.

For bringing down the company’s losses in Europe, Fields said, “We don’t have a fixed target. We’ll cut back the losses this year and want to become profitable again as quickly as possible.” Previously the company has said that it is looking to be profitable in Europe by 2016.

Meanwhile, Ford aims to double its manufacturing capacity in China by the end of 2015 by setting up two new plants and expanding capacity of existing ones. By the end of the year, it will have an annual production capacity of 500,000 trucks and 1.4m cars in the country.
