Russian companies’ output of car tyres rose 9.5% on the year to 17.7 million units in January-August, the Federal State Statistics Service reported, according to Prime-Tass.


Output of truck tyres rose 0.4% on the year to 7.7 million in January-August and tyre production for agricultural vehicles rose 1.9% on the year to 1.3 million, the service said.


Car tyre output in Russia rose 3.6% on the year in 2004 to 25 million units, according to the Economic Development and Trade Ministry’s report on Russia’s economic development in 2004.
