AvtoVAZ plans to manufacture 712,000 vehicles in 2015, up around 39% from the 511,894 produced in 2014. The upcoming launch of new Datsun and Renault models will drive the growth.
AvtoVAZ CEO Bo Andersson said, “The large increase in production is also a result of the launch of the Lada Vesta in September but we won’t see the results until 2016,” The Moscow Times reported citing TASS.
The company plans to double its exports in 2015 to 100,000 vehicles, with prime markets being Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
AvtoVAZ is focussing on exports following sluggish sales in its domestic market due to the decline of the rouble and economic stagnation.
