AvtoVAZ – Russia’s biggest auto maker – said it was confident of meeting its 2000 export target of 98,500 vehicles having fulfilled it nine month export plan, say Russian media reports (9/10/00).

Citing Vladimir Kuchai, senior sales manager, in an AvtoVAZ statement, the report says the company believes that within the remaining three months, it will meet the planned target, set by the board of directors, to export 98,500 cars.

The company, which produces 700,000 vehicles per year, exported 68,000 cars in the first nine months of 2000.
