In another sign of growing interest in Pakistan’s car market potential, a senior Toyota executive has described the country as ‘one of the most promising’.

Asia Pulse reported remarks by Michinobu Sugata, Senior Vice President of Toyota Motor Asia Pacific, while addressing the Annual Toyota Dealer Conference in Karachi last week.

“We expect an enormous potential for future growth,” he said.

Car sales in Pakistan rose 51% in July over the same month a year ago after prices and borrowing costs declined.

However, analysts caution that Pakistan’s political volatility creates an ever-present risk to its economy.
