Mercedes-Benz has said it will upgrade vehicles equipped with its automated driving system, so they can drive autonomously on German motorways.

The firm said the autonomous driving would be up to 95 kilometres per hour. The move is pending certification which is expected at the end of 2024, it said.

Cars that have this tech will be upgraded from their current 60kph free of charge, according to Reuters.

Sales of the DRIVE PILOT system will start from next year, it added.
