Mazda Motor Europe (MME) said Jorgen Olesen, vice president of customer service and logistics, will retire on 31 March, 2016 after almost 18 years of service with Mazda.
His many duties will now be shared among several senior managers.
Effective 1 March:
- Alex Janssens, presently chief information officer and member of MME's senior team, will additionally take responsibility for parts supply & logistics in Willebroek, Belgium;
- Christine Plasmans, presently in charge of finance and accounting at Mazda Logistics Europe, will assume responsibility for Mazda Logistics Europe's (MLE) vehicle logistics operations;
- Dirk Weiss will assume all of Jorgen's responsibilities in Leverkusen, including heading customer service department, quality assurance and accessory development. In his new role, Weiss will report to Martijn ten Brink;
- Eric Segers will continue to oversee MLE's human resources & general administration responsibilities, reporting to Bruno Mueller.

Among numerous accomplishments, he was instrumental in the creation of our European logistics network, the development of e-Motive and digital service record, and in pioneering the use of the trans-Siberian railroad for delivering cars from Japan to points west in Russia. We will miss him and we wish him and his family all the very best for the coming years in his retirement" said Jeff Guyton, president and CEO of MME.
