Peugeot’s Malaysian distributor, Nasim Snd Bhd, is ramping up production of the newly-launched 207 range, with a view to expanding exports to more markets in the region.

The company expects to produce 60,000 units of the model during the next five years, with exports expected to account for around 60% of the total.

The firm began exporting the model to Thailand in November 2010, and will add Indonesia as an export destination in March 2011.

Other right hand markets will be targeted in the region, including Brunei, Sri Lanka and Singapore, as well as in Africa.
