The trading arm of Toyota Motor Corp. – Toyota Tsusho Corp. – said Monday (20/11/00)
that it has established a joint venture in the US, say same-day Kyodo news reports.
According to the news agency, the venture – capitalised at $400,000 – aims to
oversee and coordinate the transport of automotive components to Toyota’s sites
across the US.
The joint project – evenly owned by the Toyota Tsusho Group of Companies alongside
Ryder System of the US – expects to earn $36 million in the fiscal year 2003.
The start date for operations is December, says the article.
This new venture will see suppliers deliver parts to relay bases to be set up
for temporary storage before being transported to the Toyota plants.
