News has emerged that a 600-car shipment of Nissan Leafs was able to get out of Japan on Thursday March 10, a day before the disaster struck.

Nissan has reportedly been in trouble with the Leaf in the US with difficulty in securing sufficient supply for the 20,000 customers who have reserved one.

It is also reported that some 2,300 Nissan and Infiniti models were destroyed by the tsunami while awaiting export shipment to the US.
