Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has announced the appointment of Aleksey Beylin as Chief Information Officer and Corporate General Manager of the Global IT Office as of April 1, 2003.

Beylin, 40, takes over from Bernd Staudinger who will head up the DaimlerChrysler University in Stuttgart, Germany.

Beylin was chosen as Staudinger’s successor for his specific professional experience in the area of information technology (IT). Since joining Chrysler Corporation in 1988, Beylin has worked in a number of different functions at various IT departments.

Staudinger was appointed to head the Global IT Office in June 2001. In that position he led the globalisation of MMC’s IT activities and played a key role in raising the efficiency of operations within the company.

He was integral in achieving the company’s alliance with IBM Japan, and promoted collaboration between the IT department and related departments.
