Japanese sunroof maker Ohi Seisakusho has formed an alliance with the Dutch firm Inalfa Industries to make sunroofs in the US for Nissan’s next Maxima, production of which is being moved from Japan to Tennessee.
The two companies formed Ohi Inalfa Roof Systems last September and will use Inalfa’s Detroit plant to supply Nissan.
The alliance also plans to shut a Japanese Inalfa plant which currently supplies Montero Sports sunroofs to Mitsubishi and transfer that production to the US.
