Isuzu has announced that it will start producing truck diesel engines in China. A new joint venture will be set up in Chongqing, Sichuan Province, where Isuzu started producing N-series light duty trucks in partnership with Qingling Motors in 1985.

The new venture will produce 170,000 diesel engines a year and aims to reach full capacity 2009, according to Japanese press reports.
