Tyre maker Bridgestone Corp is to spend about $US220 million to build a plant in Mexico to meet growing demand.
According to Reuters, the plant, which will have a daily output capacity of 8,000 tyres, will produce passenger and light truck tyres and is scheduled to be in operation in July 2007.
The firm plans to employ over 200 people at the plant, which will be its third in Mexico – it will be located in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, and will produce tyres mainly for the US market, the report added.
