Audi has started selling the Audi A6 hybrid car in Japan, its first launch of a hybrid vehicle in the Japanese market.
The vehicle, priced at 6.9 million yen, is around 17% more fuel efficient than the non-hybrid A6 model, the automaker said.
Audi Japan aims to sell 250 units of the vehicle in Japan by the end of this year and 700 units in 2013, President Hiroshi Okita said at a press conference, Kyodo reported.
He also said that the firm plans to launch a hybrid version of the Audi Q5 SUV car next year in Japan.
