Testing and public road data collection was carried out prior to the S-Way being greenlighted for use on Germany’s roads.

Further testing will be carried out in the country over the next few months, with plans to expand to Austria, France and Italy.

Iveco says it is expected the testing will demonstrate how PlusDrive can handle driver-supervised manoeuvres such as lane centering and nudging.

Marco Liccardo, Chief Technology & Digital Officer, Iveco Group, said: “We are excited to enter this next phase of our partnership with Plus, and demonstrate the increasing maturity of our IVECO S-Way with PlusDrive through public road testing and commercial operations.”

Shawn Kerrigan, COO and Co-founder at Plus, said: “We are proud of the hard work that the Iveco and Plus teams have poured into getting this innovative driving solution on public roads for testing.”
