Magna International is remaining quiet concerning reports it could purchase design company Pininfarina.
Speculation has raised the possibility of Pininfarina’s know-how being a good fit for Magna’s Steyr division, which operates a contract assembly operation in Graz, Austria.
Magna was rarely out of media headlines last year as it sought to take over Opel/Vauxhall from GM, only to see the US manufacturer opt to keep its Europe division in-house.
“I am not able to comment – we have seen the reports,” a Magna spokeswoman in North America told just-auto.
