Iran exported motor vehicles and parts worth US$47.544m during the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year, which started on 21 March, according to customs officals.


A total of 7,818 tonnes of motor vehicle parts, worth US$20.2m, were exported in the first quarter, an 87% increase in value. The United Arab Emirates, Russia, France, Italy and Saudi Arabia were the main markets.


Officials said that, although exports of passenger vehicles decreased 30% year on year, non-passenger vehicle exports soared 36%. Syria, Russia, Kuwait, Azerbaijan Republic and Guinea were the main markets for these vehicles.
