A Mercedes Benz dealership will soon open in Iran.

Iran Khodro Diesel will be the first foreign car dealership to provide sales and after-sales services for Merecedes Benz products in Iran, reported the Iranian Students News Agency.

Mehrnews.com said foreign vehicle manufacturers have not in the past directly represented their products and, instead, individual car dealers, as well as companies in the private and public sector, have sold and serviced vehicles.

The deal with Top Khodro to assemble cars means Mercedes Benz has become the second foreign car maker to establish a joint venture in Iran’s lucrative motor industry – following Renault Pars.
