Pertamina Lubricants, a producer of automotive lubricants, plans to invest IDR1.3 trillion (US$114m) to increase its capacity to produce lubricants.

The company plans to build two new high quality lubricant factories in north Jakarta, including a new IDR500bn with a capacity of 8,000 tons of grease per year and an IDR800bn lube oil blending plant.

The need for additional capacity reflects the country’s rapidly growing vehicle sales and production. Construction of the lube blending plant has already begun while building work on the grease plant will start next year.
