Tata Motors will launch the Aria, said to be the first Indian-designed, developed and built crossover, on 11 October. First shown as a concept at the Geneva motor show in 2005 and at the New Delhi show in 2006, the production Aria was finally unveiled in New Delhi last January.

Tata said the Aria “brings together the luxury and finesse of a sedan and the muscle of an SUV”. Development started in 2006 and 150 people, a mix of multi-discipline Tata Motors specialists and vendor employees worked on the project to create this “segment-defining crossover”.
