The Volkswagen Group sold 4.24m Volkswagen brand vehicles in the first 10 months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 12.1%. October deliveries rose 10.4% to 430,800.
Sales and marketing chief Christian Klingler said, however, that the group was still keeping a close watch on developments in world markets as the economic outlook remains uncertain.
In North America, VW passenger car volume was up 22.2% to 404,900 during the first 10 months. In the Asia Pacific region, deliveries grew 14.1% and, in China, 11% to 1.45m in what is now the brand’s largest single market.
South America also grew in this period, up 4.7% boosted by deliveries in Argentina in particular, where sales rose 30% to 126,700.
In Europe, VW delivered 1.44m vehicles to customers from January to October and there was substantial growth in Russia where sales doubled to 91,000.
Home market sales in of Germany rose 10% to 498,400.
