The German News Digest reports that the Germany’s northwestern state of Lower Saxony, the largest shareholder in Volkswagen, wants the company to cut its prices.

Hirche further voiced hopes that Wolfgang Bernhard, who is to join VW’s board, will manage to cut labour costs significantly.
